Field Services

The KNOX-BOX® rapid entry system is a secure emergency access program developed for property owners and fire departments. When a fire breaks out or there is a medical emergency, Knox® products allow immediate entry into buildings and property without forced entry damage or delay. Property owners store entrance keys, access cards and floor plans in high-security Knox-Boxes mounted near building entrances. Each KNOX-BOX purchased by a property owner is keyed to a single master key controlled by the fire department.

In addition to key boxes and vaults, Knox padlocks and key switches operate with the same master key. There are so many gated communities today that fire and police departments are delayed when responding to emergency calls. Increased property damage and even total loss is a threat when property is not accessible.

The Knox Rapid Entry System was developed to save property and lives.

Gated communities, apartment complexes, parking garages, pedestrian gates and industrial receiving areas are just a few applications of the Knox electric override key switch. It also controls emergency power system shutoff and can be ordered with single or dual key options for fire, EMS and law enforcement access.

  • Single or dual key switch
  • Fire or law enforcement identification
    labels
  • One position, two position or
    momentary switch
  • Face plate and lock cover ensure
    weather resistant operation.

Knox® Padlocks are operated with the same Knox Master Key used for other Knox Rapid Entry System devices. The exterior, heavy duty Knox Padlock (Model 3753) with a stainless steel shackle, is designed for securing perimeter or fire access gates, industrial equipment yards and residential storage areas.

  • Rust free, all-weather stainless steel shackle
  • Heavy-duty lock design and solid brass body resists pull attacks
  • EPDM rubber seal and body cover protects padlocks from harsh weather condition and outdoor sprinkler systems
  • Medeco® cylinder has a UL 437 rating not offered by most padlock manufacturers
  • Choice of ID label (Fire/red, EMS/white, Police/blue, Sheriff/ gold, Security/white)

Emergency Access

The Siren Operated Sensor (SOS) is used to open Residential, Commercial, Airport, Government and Military Gates during an emergency. SOS is the most cost effective way for emergency responders to access your homes and buisnesses without stopping or leaving their vehicle to enter a code or use a key. SOS is compatible with all gate operators. Once SOS is installed on your gate, your concerns about Emergency Vehicles gaining access to your property will vanish. This system saves vital seconds in all emergencies with sirens triggering gate operators. Emergency Responders get your gates open without accessing codes, keys, radio frequencies, or causing costly damage by ramming your gate.

SOS Makes ALL Gates 911 Accessible

The Siren Operated Sensor (SOS) is used by emergency responders (Fire Departments, EMS- Ambulance Services and local law enforcement) to gain access to gated communities and gated properties in the event of a 911 Emergency. The SOS Emergency Access System allows emergency vehicles equipped with sirens to utilize the YELP setting on the sirens to access gated properties that are equipped with a SOS device.

Cost Effective and Reliable

The SOS Emergency Access System provides first responders the ability to access a gated community or property without using codes, keys, radio frequencies or costly damage by ramming the gates, saving vital seconds when responding to emergency calls. The SOS has become so reliable due to its compatibility with all gate opeators that many states throughout the country are making it mandatory to have the SOS Emergency Access Device installed.
